An ISTKA project increasing women’s access to training, mentoring and career support in artificial intelligence and data science.
The need
Women’s limited access to technical skills and career opportunities in artificial intelligence and data science made it difficult for women, particularly recent graduates, those returning from a career break and those wishing to start a business in this field, to gain a strong foothold in the technology sector. The absence of an integrated structure offering training, mentoring and industry connections under a single programme deepened this gap. In response to this need, KADEM, with ISTKA’s support, launched the Women in AI programme for women aged 18–35.
Force & Brothers’ approach
Force & Brothers provided KADEM with consultancy and project management support throughout this process, helping the AI School, hands-on workshops, ideathon and hackathon events, and mentoring and career support to progress together. It also designed and implemented the Digital Competency Development Tool, and supported the training content delivered within the project, the industry connections and the team-building process of the participating women.
Outcome
By the end of the programme, the participating women had gained technical skills in artificial intelligence and data science and tangibly broadened their career and entrepreneurship options in the technology sector. This created a sustainable model that strengthens women’s participation in the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Istanbul.
