Local Initiatives Fund Türkiye (LIFT) Grant Programme Technical Support Services
Management of a grant programme offering project development and grant application support to local civil society organisations working in the refugee and protection field.
The need
Local civil society organisations working in the refugee and protection field often lacked the project development and application-writing capacity to turn even strong project ideas into grants, and this gave rise to the LIFT Grant Programme. The absence of technical support and an independent evaluation mechanism for these organisations’ access to grant processes created a gap that made it harder for resources to reach the most effective projects. In response to this need, the European Union and GIZ launched the LIFT Grant Programme for local civil society organisations with a grant budget of EUR 5 million.
Force & Brothers’ approach
As the party responsible for managing the programme and for the technical support provided to applicants, Force & Brothers coordinated the Innovation Lab workshops and the technical help desk, managed the independent evaluation process and supported the selected organisations during the contracting phase.
Outcome
By the end of the programme, local civil society organisations working in the refugee and protection field had turned their project ideas into strong applications and gained access to EUR 5 million in grant funding. Thanks to the independent evaluation process and the support provided during the contracting phase, the selected organisations were able to implement their projects through a transparent and reliable mechanism.
