The need

In provinces of Türkiye with large refugee and host communities, the lack of adequate, good-quality pre-school education infrastructure to provide access to early childhood education was the starting point for the third phase of the project. Alongside the shortage of physical infrastructure, limited awareness among families and school communities of the importance of early childhood education was another barrier to children’s participation in education. In response to this need, the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye and KfW Development Bank, with FRIT II funding, built and equipped 100 pre-school education facilities in 19 provinces.

02

Force & Brothers’ approach

Force & Brothers managed the programme’s visibility, communication and dissemination activities. Our team ran a communication campaign whose content for families and school communities addressed the importance of early childhood education, the new learning spaces and children’s participation in education.

Outcome

By the end of the programme’s third phase, 100 pre-school education facilities had been built in 19 provinces and furnished with equipment suitable for children. Thanks to the visibility activities, awareness of early childhood education among families and school communities increased, paving the way for children to make effective use of the new learning spaces. Throughout the project, visibility and communication activities were carried out in line with the EU’s visibility requirements: a project website was set up, school groundbreaking and opening ceremonies were organised, local information meetings were held and information materials about the project were produced.
