The need
The starting point for this feasibility study was that the testing, analysis, certification and consultancy services needed by the chemical sector in Türkiye for its export and R&D activities were not offered on an accredited basis from a single centre. Designing such an investment with the right service areas and priorities required a concrete analysis reflecting the needs of sector representatives, together with a financing strategy. In response to this need, the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB) commissioned the feasibility study for the Chemical Technology Centre with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency’s focused investment preparation.
Force & Brothers’ approach
Based on interviews with sector representatives, Force & Brothers identified the centre’s service areas and investment priorities. Our team prepared the needs analysis, the feasibility report and the Chemical Technology Centre Vision Document, and within the same study also developed the guided project files submitted to the Istanbul Development Agency to finance the investment.
Outcome
At the end of the study, a comprehensive feasibility report and vision document were completed, defining the service areas and investment priorities on which the Chemical Technology Centre would focus. This enabled IKMIB to submit a strong, well-justified financing application to the Istanbul Development Agency for the establishment of the centre, and the study later formed the basis of the major investment implemented with the direct support of the Ministry of Trade.
