A strategy and action plan assessing Babadağ’s tourism potential through field research, spatial analyses and local participation.
The need
Although Babadağ’s natural landscape, cultural heritage and accumulated expertise in textile production held strong potential for tourism, these assets had not been turned into a shared tourism product, and priority investments, target visitor profiles and responsible stakeholders had not been defined. To diversify the district’s economy and link its textile identity with tourism, a practical, field-based roadmap owned by local actors was needed.
Force & Brothers’ approach
Force & Brothers assessed the district’s tourism assets through field research, spatial studies and economic analyses. Through consultations involving local residents, public institutions and textile industrialists, potential tourism products and investment areas were prioritised, and each recommendation was turned into an action plan with a responsible institution, timing and implementation steps.
Outcome
The study produced a medium-term tourism strategy and a practical action plan that bring together Babadağ’s natural, cultural and textile heritage. A common basis for prioritisation was established for the local government, industry and district residents, clarifying the steps through which the tourism transformation would proceed and who would be responsible for them.
