Digital Competency Assessment Tool Developed in Cooperation with KADEM Enters the Academic Literature

An article on the Digital Competency Assessment Tool (DYDA), which Force & Brothers helped develop as part of KADEM’s “Women in AI” project, has been published in the KADEM Journal of Women’s Studies.

The work carried out in cooperation between Force & Brothers and the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) continues to contribute not only to practice but also to the production of academic knowledge. The model and initial implementation experience of the Digital Competency Assessment Tool, developed as part of KADEM’s “Women in AI” project, have been brought into the academic literature through the published article.

Written by Eda Kahraman, Yasemin Dursun and Gökhan Dinç, the article titled “Assessing Women’s Digital and Artificial Intelligence Competencies: International Approaches, the DYDA Model, and Initial Implementation Experience” examines international approaches to assessing women’s digital and artificial intelligence competencies. Within the framework of these approaches, the study discusses the DYDA model and the experience gained from the first implementation carried out under the project.

DYDA assesses six different competency areas on two levels: self-assessment and a knowledge test. The tool was designed to help determine participants’ levels of digital competency, identify their training needs and plan training processes suited to these needs.

In the first implementation, the digital competencies of 226 women candidates were assessed. The data and experience gained from the implementation provided findings that will form the basis for subsequent validation and development work on the tool.

This publication is one of the academic outputs of Force & Brothers’ cooperation with KADEM in project design, implementation, and measurement and evaluation processes. Examining field experience within a scientific framework contributes to work on assessing women’s digital and artificial intelligence competencies.
